Revelation of God’s word!!! - Pastor Kalu Oji

"And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you did call me. Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. 9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place" (1 Samuel 3:8-9, NKJV).

Many of us who claim to be servants of God appear to make the mistake of assuming that our recognition and knowledge of God's word comes overnight or just at the snap of a finger. It takes God's own revelation and at times the advice of someone who has been in the same shoes for one to understand what is going on. It takes one's seeking to know and total focus before one can receive this kind of revelation of God's word. The Syro-Phoenician woman had a personal encounter with our LORD Jesus Christ in her quest for healing, our LORD said something very significant to her. Watch this:

"For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet. 26 The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. 27 But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” 28 And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs" (Mark 7:25-28, NKJV).

God's word is very important and due to His great importance, the children's bread according to our LORD Jesus Christ is not good to be cast or thrown to the little dogs. God bless God for the Syro-Phoenician woman who was determined to seek out and receive this very important healing for her. Watch her response: "Yes, LORD, yet even the dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs." Glory to God, Alleluia!!! It takes our taking out time to focus before we can receive a revelation of the very scarce and important word of God.

In Exodus 3:1-4, NKJV:

"Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. 3 Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” 4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am."

It took Moses' turning aside to focus on the great sight of the burning bush that did not get burnt prior to God revealing His word to Moses. It does not matter what our individual situations and circumstances may appear today. God is searching for those who will take out time from their very busy and important schedules turn aside to embark on a personal relationship with Him before we can receive His word. Even though Samuel was already ministering in God's house, he had not yet received a personal revelation of God's word. There appears to be many of us who claim to be great servants of the LORD our God today who are yet to receive directly from God His own word and revelation. Many born again believing children of God also appear to fall into this group because we appear to be too busy based on our personal schedules to even make out some time for the LORD our God. My prayer is that God will open our eyes of understanding for us to see that nothing in this life matters or is more important than God's word regardless of the position we think we occupy. Let us remember this word:

"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13, NKJV).

The Syro-Phoenician woman found the LORD and His word when she took her time to seek Him. Moses found the LORD and His word when he took out time to turn aside. Joshua the son of Nun took his time to spend time in God's Presence. Samuel was able to receive God's word and revelation when he took time to inquire and get some direction from Eli. The woman with the issue of blood made sure that she bullied her way through the crowd regardless of the odor oozing out from her until she received God’s word and touch for her healing. Blind Bartimaeus refused to quieten down despite all attempts by the crowd to shut him up until he caught the LORD our God’s attention and received God’s word and healing. His name was changed from that day moving forward from Blind Bartimaeus to the blessed of God. How about us? When are we going to take time out of our very busy schedules to seek the LORD our God and His word that is still very scarce and even scarcer today than He was in the days of Samuel? Watch this:

"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him" (2 Chronicles 16:9a, NKJV).

How loyal are our hearts to the LORD our God? How important to our lives is God’s word? The ball is in our courts and we remain the only ones to answer these questions.
