Muslim and Christian students organized a relief effort for the victims of the ongoing firefight between government forces and the Maute group in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.
The student-backed campaign, named "Tabang Sibilyan-Visayas," is located at the Caritas building owned by the Archdiocese of Cebu. They have gathered various basic goods to help those affected by the conflict.
Organizers have sought the help of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in ferrying relief goods to Lanao Del Sur.
Through their operation, the students said they want to show that people will help regardless of their faith.
A total of 175 people have died in the Marawi City, the military said.
Among the fatalities were 120 terrorists, 36 government troops and 19 civilians.
